Why “patient zero”
The first infection is the one that matters.
In epidemiology, patient zero is the first case: the origin that explains everything that followed. In a hacked server it’s the same. There is always a first way in: an outdated plugin, a nulled theme, a leaked password, an upload form that accepted a PHP file.
Delete the symptoms and the infection comes back. Find patient zero, remove every persistence mechanism the attacker left behind, and close the way in, and it stays gone. That’s the whole philosophy, and it’s in our logo: a scan ring that has found the red core.
